Price of green chilies, vegetables drop

Prices of daily essentials, aside from green chilies, have started falling in the capital's kitchen markets due to an increase in supply.

While visiting several kitchen markets in Mirpur area of the capital on Friday morning (October 18), this reporter found that the prices of several items were down.

Papaya was selling at Tk50 per kg, Pointed Gourd at Tk80 a kg, Okra at Tk80-90 a kg, Yardlong bean at Tk100-120 a kg, Brinjal Tk130-140, Tomato at Tk180-190 per kg, Zucchini and Ribbed gourd at Tk 100-120 per kg.

Besides, the prices of green chilies were dropped and the item is now selling at Tk240-Tk300.

Eggs that were priced at Tk180 in the last week are now selling at Tk150 per dozen.
