Italy suspends validity of work permit for Bangladeshis, others

The Italian government has suspended the validity of all "Nulla Osta" (work authorizations) issued in favour of citizens of some countries, including Bangladesh.

Italian Embassy in Dhaka issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (October 17).

According to the Law Decree dated 11 October 2024, the embassy will only issue work visas after receiving confirmation from the provincial immigration office in Italy, known as "Sportello Unico" (SUI), that the verification of the suspended Nulla Osta has been completed.

Each applicant will be contacted by the embassy through VFS Global via SMS or email to inform them when their passport is ready for collection, said the statement.
