A Dhaka court has placed former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station Md Rafiqul Islam on a four-day remand in a case lodged over parking of five sand-laden trucks to block the entries to the road leading to the house of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in 2013.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Afnan Somi passed the order as police produced Rafiqul before the court and pleaded to place him on a five-day remand.

Police, after taking permission from the Ministry of Home Affair, arrested Md Rafiqul Islam on October 17.
Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal leader Md Shariful Islam filed the case with Gulshan Police Station on October 4.
According to the case documents, then Awami League government with the goal of retaining power, conspired to hold an election under its own government in 2014. In protest of the Awami League conspiracy, BNP on December 29, 2013, declared 'March for Democracy' program.
