Kamal Ahmed Majumdar placed on 3-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, former State Minister for Industries under the Awami League government, on a three-day remand in connection with a murder case related to the anti-quota reform student movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haydar passed the order on Saturday morning (October 19).
Earlier, Sub-Inspector Harun-or-Rashid of Kafrul police station produced the accused before the court seeking seven days of remand.
On Friday night, police arrested him from a residence in the capital’s Gulshan.
Kamal Majumder had gone into hiding along with other ministers and parliamentarians after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country on August 5.
