Dhaka dwellers suffer amid unusual traffic jams

Dhaka dwellers remained stuck up for hours in severe traffic congestion on Saturday (October 19).

Outsourcing employees of government institutions launched a protest by blocking several key roads in the capital around 10:00 am.

The blockade halted vehicle movement in the neighborhood surrounding the Shahbagh intersection, causing severe traffic congestion.

Rani Begum, a dweller from Savar said that she came to BIRDEM General Hospital to get treatment and got stuck there due to traffic jam.

Another jaywalker in the area said, “I came here from Shanirakhra area this morning. I had to walk the whole way from Gulisthan due to the congestion.
