No discussion on issue of Sheikh Hasina held: Pranay Verma

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma held a meeting with Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin on Sunday.

After the meeting, Pranay Verma told journalists they discussed the shared aspirations of the people for peace, security and development. They have no discussion on issues relating to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“No, no specific…it was more in terms of how we will take forward the relations in the coming days,” the Indian envoy said.

Both sides emphasized the importance of reinvigorating regular bilateral mechanisms to address key issues, he said. 

Regarding the next round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between India and Bangladesh, Verma noted that this was a subject of their discussions.
