Cyclone Dana being formed at Bay

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the formation of a cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal by October 23, which is expected to significantly impact coastal regions in Odisha and West Bengal. 

An upper-air cyclonic circulation over the Andaman Sea is forecasted to develop into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. 

According to American and European weather forecast models, cyclone ‘Dana’ may hit land between 24 and 25 October. 

At this time its speed can be a maximum of 130 km per hour. Due to the impact of the cyclone, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in most districts of the country from October 23 to 26. Due to this, there may be rainfall for 4 to 5 days across the country.

On Sunday, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasted that weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

“Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country”, according to a met forecast for next 24 hours from 9am on Sunday.
