Barrister Sumon arrested

Police arrested the former member of parliament (MP) Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman in connection with a murder case.

He was arrested from his sister’s residence in Mirpur-6 around 1:30 am on Tuesday (October 22).

Pallabi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.

According to police, Sumon was wanted in murder cases filed over killing students during July revolution. He was kept at the Pallabi Police Station as the lock-up of Mirpur Police Station was badly damaged in an attack during the student protest.

On the other hand, before the arrest, Sumon posted on his verified Facebook account, saying, "I am going with the police. Will see you at the court. Please pray for me."
