Barrister Sumon on 5-day remand

A court in Dhaka placed Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon, a former lawmaker, on a five-day remand in connection with an attempted murder case in Dhaka's Mirpur.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jakir Hossain passed the order on Tuesday (October 22).

Earlier, Mirpur model police station’s Sub-Inspector Abdul Halim produced him before the court seeking 10-day remand.

Sayedul Haque Sumon was arrested from his sister’s residence in Mirpur-6 around 1:30 am on Tuesday.
