Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Adviser AF Hassan Arif said the tenure of the elected government should be four years.
The adviser said this while addressing a view exchange meeting with members of the Bangladesh Secretariate Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the secretariate on Wednesday (October 30).
He said that regarding the Union Parishad, steps will be taken considering the situation. The term of an elected government in Bangladesh should be four years instead of five years. This is our personal opinion.
The term of all local governments, including city corporations, municipalities, should be 3 years instead of 5 years, he added.
BSRF President Fasih Uddin Mahtab presided over the program where general secretary Masudul Haque conducted the program.
