5-day remand for Obaidul Muktadir

Former Housing and Public Works Minister RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury has been put on a five day remand in a case filed over the murder of BNP activist Mokbul Hossain.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehera Mahbub granted the remand plea on Friday. 

Earlier, Paltan model police station Sub-Inspector Nazmul Hasan produced him before the court and sought a 10-day remand.

He was arrested from the Shewrapara area of Mirpur on Thursday midnight.

Muktadir Chowdhury is a former Awami League lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-3. He was in hiding since August 5.
