DMP bans all gatherings in Kakrail area Saturday

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of public gathering in the capital's Kakrail area on Saturday (2 November).
The DMP issued a public notice in this regard on Friday (1 November).
According to the notice, the ban has been imposed as per Section 29 of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance to maintain public order amid the recent circumstances.
All meetings, gatherings, processions, and demonstrations are prohibited at House #66 on Pioneer Road (JP office) in Kakrail, and surrounding areas, it read.
Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader has announced they will hold a rally in front of its office at Kakrail in the city on Saturday (November 2).
“We will hold the rally on Saturday even if it costs us our lives. Our programme for 2 November is still on. We will continue to fight for the betterment of the country, even if it kills us”, he said.
GM Quader announced this at a press briefing at the office of party chairman at Banani in the city on Friday.
Meanwhile, the group of student-public under the banner of ‘Anti-Fascism Student, Worker and Public, has announced a programme near the Jatiya Party office on Saturday.
Jatiya Party leaders and activists are taking position in their central office area. On Friday they brought out a procession and said the final game would be played on Saturday.
On the other hand, students and people may take control of Jatiya Party office. As a result, experts say that violent clashes may take place any time.
