JP suspends Saturday rally; students to hold rally at TSC

Jatiya Party has suspended its rally scheduled to be held on Saturday in front of the party's central office in the capital's Kakrail.
JP said this in a press release on Friday night.
JP came up with the decision around two hours after Dhaka Metropolitan Police in a notice announced to prohibit all meetings, gatherings, processions, and demonstrations in front of the party's office and surrounding areas in Kakrail on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the group of student-public under the banner of ‘Anti-Fascism Student, Worker and Public, has announced that they will hold a rally at TSC of the Dhaka University on Saturday.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of public gathering in the capital's Kakrail area on Saturday (2 November).
The DMP issued a public notice in this regard on Friday (1 November).
According to the notice, the ban has been imposed as per Section 29 of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance to maintain public order amid the recent circumstances.
All meetings, gatherings, processions, and demonstrations are prohibited at House #66 on Pioneer Road (JP office) in Kakrail, and surrounding areas, it read.
