Chief Adviser accords reception to SAFF winning women footballers

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus hosted a reception to SAFF Championship winning Bangladesh women’s football team.
The reception was organized at the State Guest House Jamuna at 11am on Saturday (November 2).
Earlier, a total of 23 footballers in the SAFF squad, manager Mahmuda and coach Peter Butler arrived in the State Guest House Jamuna here at 10:30 am to join the reception.
Bangladesh claimed the SAFF Women’s Championship title by defeating Nepal 2-1 at the Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu on Wednesday night.
The women’s team returned to Bangladesh on Thursday evening, where Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labour and Employment Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan awaited their arrival at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban from 5:30pm. The team finally arrived at 7pm, three hours after leaving the airport in an open-top bus.
This is the team’s second SAFF title. The women’s football team won their first SAFF title two years ago against the same opponents on the same ground.
