Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that his party does not want to ban any political party in the country.
The BNP secretary general made the remark while speaking at a memorial meeting organised in remembrance of BNP Chairperson’s former adviser Sabih Uddin Ahmed at BRAC Centre in the capital’s Mohakhali on Saturday (November 2).
“Conspiracies are going on to create an anarchic situation and an issue. The interim government must be careful about the matter. Jatiya Party is not an issue”, he said.
Sabih Uddin Ahmed worked for the country, people and democracy throughout his life. He will have been happier if he could see the fascism-free Bangladesh, he said.
Finance Adviser Saleh Uddin Ahmed, BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam, Sabih Uddin Ahmed's friends and well-wishers attended the programme.
