Adani`s dues to be paid soon, says Press Secretary

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary M Shafiqul Alam said that the government has taken steps to clear the outstanding due to India’s Adani group. The previous Awami League government is mainly responsible for the remaining bill.

The press secretary said this while addressing a press briefing at the foreign service academy in the capital on Sunday evening (November 3).

“We have expedited the payment to Adani. We paid US$ 97 million last month (October), which was double from the previous month,” he said.

Shafiqul Alam said, “We will not be hostage to any individual power producer, no matter how powerful they are. From our side, we are trying our best to accelerate the payment. Our reserves have started rising.”
