Planning Commission reconstituted with Chief Adviser as its chairperson

The Bangladesh Planning Commission has been reconstituted with Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus as its chairperson.
Finance ministry Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed has been made the alternative chairperson.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Monday (November 4).
Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has been made the commission’s vice-chairperson, while the planning commission’s members have been made the new commission’s members.
Planning Division Secretary Iqbal Abdullah Harun has been made the commission’s member secretary.
The commission’s scope of work includes reviewing the overall economic situation of the country, finalizing drafts of the Annual Development Program (ADP) and the Revised Annual Development Program (RADP) for submission to the National Economic Council (NEC) for approval.
It will also provide guidance on implementing and updating short, medium, and long-term plans for presentation to the NEC, review critical matters related to national plan implementation, and resolve inter-ministerial differences on strategic issues related to the national plan, the notification added.
