Dengue claims 5 more lives

Five dengue patients died and 466 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till Friday morning.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said this.

With latest casualties, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease reached 32 in the last week while this year’s mounted to 342. 

Of the five victims, three died while undergoing treatment at different hospitals under Dhaka South City Corporation area.

During the period, 242 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 224 patients were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital, said the press release.

This year, the total number of cases rose to 69,922.
