Chief Adviser to leave for Azerbaijan on Monday 

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to leave for Baku, Azerbaijan to attend the UN's biggest climate conference, COP29.

Foreign ministry sources said that the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) is taking place from Monday to November 22. The Chief Adviser will attend the three-day long program as a part of state tour.

The officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Bangladesh, one of the climate-risk countries, will present its demands in Baku.

The last COP-28 conference was held in the United Arab Emirates in 2023. COP-27 was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt in 2022. The head of government of Bangladesh did not participate in those two conferences.
