British Under Secretary Catherine due in Dhaka on 2-day visit

British Under Secretary Catherine West is scheduled to come to Dhaka next week on a two-day visit.

This will be the first visit by a British official since the formation of the interim government in Bangladesh.

It is believed that she is coming to Dhaka on behalf of the UK government to understand the sentiment of the interim government.

This will be her first visit to Bangladesh since she took charge as State Minister for Indo-Pacific Affairs at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in July last.

Catherine will stay in Dhaka on November 17-18. During her visit, Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus and Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain are expected to hold a meeting.
