Travel ban imposed on ex-Mayor Ivy

A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on former Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation Dr Selina Hayat Ivy over allegations of corruption.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain passed the order on November 6.

The Anti-Corruption Commission’s Court Inspector Amir Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 13).

ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Neyamul Ahsan Gazi filed the plea, pleading to impose a travel ban on her. They are probing allegations of misusing power, amassing illegal wealth through corruption and irregularities, among others, against Ivy. She may try to flee the country to evade justice. So, a travel ban should be imposed on her.
