Child abducted during robbery recovered

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered the baby girl that was abducted along with valuables during a robbery at a house at Azimpur Medical Staff Quarters in the capital early Friday (November 15) afternoon.
The abducted baby was recovered from Mohammadpur area of the capital.
One person has been detained in connection with the abduction of the baby girl.
The RAB confirmed the recovery of the baby girl in a text message sent to the media on Saturday (November 16) morning.
The elite force has called a press conference at its media centre in the capital’s Karwan Bazar at 12:30 pm to brief details regarding the abduction of the baby girl.
Lt Col Munim Ferdous, director of RAB’s legal and media wing, briefed the media.
The incident of robbery took place at the house of Farzana Akter, who is a government employee. She works as a stenographer at the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
She resides in a rented house at Azimpur Medical Staff Quarters, while her husband works at a private company.
Farzana has a female sub-tenant in her house. The woman, along with two men, went her house early Friday afternoon. Then they locked in an altercation with Farzana. They also slapped her during the altercation.
Subsequently, they took away various household goods, along with Farzana’s baby girl.
Meanwhile, a colleague of Farzana Akter posted a photo of the child on Facebook, saying: “A robbery took place at my colleague Farzana's house at Azimpur Medical Staff Quarters, near the Lalbagh Tower. The robbers, consisting of one woman and two men, took away her belongings and her only child.”
