3-day remand sought for Desh TV MD Arif Hasan

Police sought a three-day remand for Arif Hasan, the managing director (MD) of the private television channel Desh TV, in an attempted murder case.

The investigating officer of the case SI Abu Sayeed filed the remand prayer on Sunday (November 17) citing that Arif Hasan is the financer of the Awami League.

Hearing will be held in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate this noon.

Earlier, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Arif Hasan from his residence on Saturday (November 16) night.

It is learnt that Arif was shown arrested in an attempted murder case filed with the Airport Police Station on July 19 during the student-led mass uprising.

Arif Hasan holds the secretary general post of the Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).
