Income tax return submission date extended

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) extended the deadline for income tax returns submission by all types of taxpayers in both offline and online by one month till December 31.

The NBR issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (November 17).

According to NBR, the authority extended the deadline following the requests from various quarters and taxpayers.

Under the order, all types of taxpayers, including the individual taxpayers, except companies, would now be able to submit their returns in both offline and online without any fine till December 31. However, this facility would not be applicable to the companies.

Already 3.75 lakh taxpayers have so far submitted their return already, said NBR.
