13 accused of ‘genocide’ appeared before ICT

13 accused in the July-August ‘genocide’ case have been sent before the International Crimes Tribunal.

Among the accused are nine former ministers and state ministers from the Awami League government, two advisors, a retired judge, and a former secretary.

The accused were sent before the three-member tribunal around 10:00 am on Monday (November 18).

The accused are former minister Anisul Huq, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, Faruk Khan, Shajahan Khan, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Golam Dastagir Gazi, Dipu Moni, Zunayed Ahmed Palak, former prime minister Hasina’s advisors Salman F Rahman, Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, retired justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and former home secretary Jahangir Alam.

Earlier, on October 17, the tribunal issued arrest warrants for 46 people, including Hasina.
