Govt to receive loan $1.1 billion by December

The government would receive $1.1 billion from the global lenders by December this year.
Of the amount, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will provide $600 million and the World Bank $500 million in budgetary support.
Finance secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder revealed the matter in a press conference at the secretariat on Tuesday (November 19).
He said that the interim government is getting support from the IMF and the World Bank. Much more money is being received than the plan.
The finance secretary said that negotiations have been completed for a loan of $600 million with ADB. We will receive that money by December. Negotiations have been completed for a loan of $500 million from the World Bank. We will also receive that by December.
Nazma Mubarak, the secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, Secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) Md. Shahriar Quader Siddiqui, NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan and others attended the press conference.
