‘No banks will be shut down’

Some crisis-hit banks have started to regain stability. In this situation, giving another message of hope, Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed said that no bank will be shut down.
The adviser said this while addressing a press conference at the secretariat on Tuesday (November 19).
He said, “Some banks are recovering. Islami Bank, the largest bank, is improving. However, some banks will continue to struggle. But we will not shut down any bank.”
Salehuddin Ahmed also said that measures are being taken to reduce government expenditure. Salaries and allowances for government officials will not be impacted.
