Upgrading Titumir College into varsity: Ministry to form committee

The Ministry of Education will form a committee to conduct a feasibility study on upgrading the Titumir College to a university.
The committee will submit its report within seven working days.
Professor Dr. M Aminul Islam, special assistant to the education adviser, informed this at 4 pm on Tuesday (November 19).
Earlier, a two-and-a-half-hour meeting was held with a delegation of 14 members from the Government Titumir College.
Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Nahid Islam was also present.
Dr. M Aminul Islam said, “It is very difficult to transform a college into a university. However, there is no university in the northern region. Apart from this, Titumir College has 10 acres of land. The committee will observe all the issues and take a decision.”
The 14-member delegation includes Mahmud Hasan Muktar, Mosharraf Rabbi, Newek Noor Mohammad, Abdul Hamid, Nuruddin Jisan, Matiur Rahman Joy, Jahangir Sunny, Mehedi Hasan Mal, Aminul Islam, Mohammad Bellal, Al Noman Nirab, Habibullah Roni, Towaha and Kausar.
