ICT directs probe against 8 police officials in a month

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered to complete the investigation against eight police official, including former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and former army officer Maj Gen Ziaul Ahsan, within a month in a case filed for crimes against humanity during the July-August mass uprising.
A three-member International Crimes tribunal, chaired by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, passed this order on Wednesday (November 20).
The court also fixed December 19 for the next hearing in the case.
Chief prosecutor Tazul Islam moved for the state during the hearing.
Earlier the eight accused were shown arrest in crimes against humanity and genocide in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
