We want reforms, but election needed as soon as possible: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said has said, “We want reforms, but we also need the national election as soon as possible. It is better for the country. It must be remembered that this is not a revolutionary government, it is a constitutional one. This government has been formed with the legitimacy from the High Court. BNP wants to re-establish democracy in the country through the election.”
The BNP secretary general made the comment at a discussion organized by Jashore district unit of BNP on Friday (November 22) evening.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Conspiracy is going on every day. The allies of fascism are active. Therefore, the student community must be active on the streets to thwart any conspiracy. One objective of the movement has been achieved through the fall of fascist Hasina. Now, we must establish true democracy in the country in bid to establish the people’s right to voting and rice”, he said.
