6 BGB platoons deployed in Jatrabari-Demra area

A total of six platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the capital’s Jatrabari-Demra area to maintain law and order following a violent clash among the students of Kabi Nazrul Government College, Government Shahid Suhrawardy College and Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College.

The BGB personnel was deployed on Monday (November 25).

Md Shariful Islam, public relations officer of the BGB, confirmed the information this afternoon.

Students of three colleges -- Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul College and Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College locked into a fierce clash at Dhaka’s Jatrabari on Monday, turning the area into a battlefield.

Several students were injured during the clash and they are now being treated at hospitals.
