The High Court (HC) has acquitted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the order on Wednesday (November 27).
Khaleda, also a former prime minister, was initially imprisoned on 8 February 2018, when a special court in Dhaka sentenced her to five years in prison for her involvement in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft incident.
Later, in response to an appeal by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), the High Court on October 30 of the same year, raised her jail term to 10 years.
