6 suspects detained over lawyer Alif murder

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) detained at least six people as suspects over the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif.

The information was confirmed from the Chief Adviser’s office on Wednesday (November 27).

The six individuals have been detained for their alleged involvement in the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif after scrutinizing CCTV footages of the scene, the Chief Adviser’s office said.

Besides this six, the CMP detained 21 people more from different areas of the port city over vandalism and Tuesday’s attack on police personnel on the Chittagong court premises.

Six followers of Awami League and Chhatra League have been detained along with lethal weapons and cocktails.

Lawyer Saiful Islam was hacked to death at Rangam Cinema Hall area in front of the main entrance of Chittagong court during a clash between police and controversial Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari’s followers.
