Zika virus cases detected in Dhaka

Zika virus has been detected in Dhaka.

Presence of this virus was found in the body of eight people in the past three months. Last year, five people were also diagnosed with the virus, all of whom are now out of risk after receiving medical treatment.

Professor Tahmina Shirin, Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Research (IEDCR), confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 27).

Zika virus was first detected in the country in 2014. There is no specific treatment for Zika, its treatment is symptomatic.
