Recent instability a plot to provoke division: Fakhrul 

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sees the recent unstable events as a plot to provoke division in the country. 

He said, “Some people who consider themselves very popular are pushing the nation into darkness. We need to understand whether they are our enemies or allies”.

He was addressing a discussion organized by Doctors Association in memory of Dr. Shamsul Alam at the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday.

“Within three months, fights have already started on the streets. People are spilling each other's blood, and newspaper offices are being burned and attacked… Is this the result of the sacrifices made?” he said.

Expressing deep concerns over the "madness that has erupted in the name of religion and attacks on media offices, he said, “Despite our prolonged fight for a free and independent press, media offices are being torched? This is not the Bangladesh we envisioned, at least not the one I want to see.”
