Suspended assistant commissioner Urmi surrenders in court

The suspended assistant commissioner Tapashee Tabassum Urmi surrendered in a court in connection with a defamation case filed over her Facebook post.

He appeared before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Imran Ahmed around 10:30am on Thursday (November 28).

Earlier on October 8, a Dhaka court summoned Tapashee Tabassum, an assistant commissioner (executive magistrate) at Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner's Office, for her adverse remarks about Abu Sayeed and others who were killed during the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement.

Later, the court asked Tapashee to appear before it on November 28 after taking into cognizance of a case against her.
