Seven dengue patients die

At least seven dengue patients died while 837 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till Thursday morning.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a press release in this regard on Thursday (November 28).

During the period, 72 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 85 in Chattogram, 221 in Dhaka division, 171 in Dhaka North city while 115 in Dhaka South, 109 in Khulna, 32 in Rajshahi, 18 in Mymensingh, four in Sylhet and 10 were admitted to different hospitals in Rangpur division.

This year, the total number of cases rose to 90,440 while 482 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the release added.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
