Seven army personnel were killed by the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) in the last eight months from April to November in Bandarban district.
Colonel Intekhab Haider Khan of the Military Operations Directorate said at a press briefing in the capital’s Banani on Thursday (November 28).
“During this time, 179 KNA members were arrested and 60 firearms and a large cache of ammunition were recovered in special operations in the district,” he said.
Since November 13, the army has arrested 1,328 drug peddlers and others from different places in different incidents, he added.
“The people will have to remain alert to resist the instigators who are currently working to destabilise the country. We urge the students to be more responsible about the movement,” he said.
