5 Mohila AL leaders arrested
Five leaders of Mohila Awami League (AL) have been arrested in connection with an attack on the anti-discrimination student movement in the capital’s Pallabi.
They were arrested when police conducted a raid in Pallabi Thana area around 11:40 pm on Thursday, said a police press release.
The arrestees have been identified as 6 No ward Awami Mohila League leader Babli Begum (43), 2 No Ward General Secretary Sabina Yasmin Juthi (38), 3 No Ward Organizing Secretary Rita Akhter (40), 4 No Ward Vice-President Nazma Akhter Sathi (30) and 5 No Ward Co-Organizing Secretary Khadija Begum (34).
Police arrested them by analysing CCTV footage, intelligence information and using technology.
Victim Abid's brother Jinnat Sayedee filed a case with Pallabi Police Station on November 12, 2024 in this connection.
