Police arrested journalist Munni Saha from Karwan Bazar in the capital in a murder case filed with Jatrabari police station.
She was arrested on Saturday (November 30) night.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon police station Md Mobarak Hossain confirmed her arrest.
OC Mobarak said that Munni Saha was surrounded by some locals after she left her office at Janata Tower on Saturday night.
On information, the police detained her from the scene and brought her to the police station. At around 10:30pm, Munni Saha was taken from the police station to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) office on Minto Road.
“Munni Saha was wanted in a case filed earlier. She was arrested after police rescued her from locals in the capital’s Kawran Bazar area,” the OC mentioned.
The murder case against Munni Saha, six other journalists and another 185 individuals was filed on July 22 over the death of student Nayeem Howlader in the capital’s Jatrabari on July 19 during the quota reform protests.
Munni Saha was the editor of an online portal called “Ek Takar Khobor”.
