‘Bangladesh-India relations will go ahead according to their interests`

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain has said, “We want good relations with India. The Bangladesh-India relations will go ahead according to their interests.”
The foreign adviser said this while addressing a press conference held at the State Guest House Padma in Dhaka on Monday.
The foreign adviser termed the attempts of some Indians to enter Bangladesh through borders as provocative. He said, “Bangladesh wants to maintain normal relations with India while keeping mutual interests intact”.
Regarding the tension between Dhaka and Delhi, the adviser said, “From our position, we want good relations with India. Interest is more important. Keeping each other's interests in mind is the main subject now.”
In the press briefing, Md. Touhid Hossain said, “There was a possibility to take place a lot of chaos. With everyone's cooperation, we were able to deal with it. There are one or two incidents in the country every year. Those who do it are being brought under the law.”
He said, “Mamata Banerjee should not make such statements on the Bangladesh issue from her position.”
The foreign adviser alleged a section of Indian mass media is spreading propaganda over minority issue in Bangladesh while some others are following their footsteps.
