Vegetables price fall brings relief to city-dwellers

The prices of vegetables in Dhaka's kitchen markets have begun to decline, offering relief to consumers as early winter vegetables reach the market.

Prices of most vegetables have come down below Taka 10 to Taka 15 per kilogram (kg), claimed sellers.

After visiting the city kitchen markers, this correspondent today (December 6) witnessed that brinjals are being sold at Tk30-40 per kg while bitter gourd Tk70, papaya Tk25-30, Arum lobe Tk60 per kilogram, carrot Tk100, gourd Tk50 per piece.

Besides, a pair of cauliflower is being sold at Tk60-70, while tomatoes per kg Tk100, snake gourd (Chichinga) at Tk50, Sponge gourd (Dhundul) at Tk50, pumpkin Tk 30 per kilogram, radish Tk30-40 per kg and green chili at Tk100.
