Ex-OC Pradeep`s wife secures bail

The High Court has granted bail to Chumki Karan, wife of former Teknaf Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das, who was convicted in an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) case.

An HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the bail order on Sunday (December 8).

Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun moved for the petitioner while lawyer Asif Hasan stood for the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Earlier on August 23, 2020, the ACC filed a case against Pradeep and Chumki accusing them of accumulating illegal assets worth Tk 3.95 crore, concealing information, and engaging in money laundering.
