Chief Adviser sits with 27 EU envoys

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has sat with diplomats from all 27 European Union (EU) member states stationed in Dhaka and New Delhi and EU ambassador to Bangladesh.
The meeting began around 12 pm on Monday (December 9). Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain was present at the meeting.
A broad range of issues, including enhanced cooperation in economic sectors, the Rohingya crisis, post-LDC Generalized Scheme of Preferences plus (GSP+) facilities, and a potential Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with Bangladesh are likely to be discussed at the meeting.
This is the first time that ambassadors from all 27 EU countries have convened for a joint meeting with the Bangladeshi government, signalling their collective commitment to deepening ties.
Earlier on Thursday (December 5), Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Director General of the Public Diplomacy Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the meeting during the ministry’s weekly briefing.
