Shomi Kaiser gets interim bail in murder attempt case

The High Court (HC) has granted a three-month interim bail to Shomi Kaiser, former president of e-CAB and actress, in a case filed over an attempt to murder businessman Ishtiak Mahmud during the protests led by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
The bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the order on Tuesday (December 10).

Earlier on December 8, Shomi Kaiser submitted a petition to the High Court seeking bail in an attempt to murder case filed with Uttara East Police Station in the capital.
On November 5, Shomi Kaiser was arrested after midnight from Sector 4 of Uttara. Then a court placed her on a three-day remand.
