The High Court has dismissed the writ petition seeking an investigation into the assets and corruption of nearly fifty judges and judicial officials from the country’s lower courts.
The bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury passed the order on Tuesday (December 10).
Earlier on Monday (December 9), lawyer Md. Amimul Ehsan Jobair filed the writ petition with the relevant branch of the Supreme Court.
The writ referenced a report published in a national daily on October 16, titled "Unbelievable Wealth of Nearly Fifty Judges and Officials: Hundreds of Crores in Their Accounts." The report was attached to the petition.
