The High Court has discharged BNP organising secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu from 12 years’ imprisonment in a case filed under Explosive Substances Act.
A dual HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the order on Tuesday (December 10) following a preliminary hearing of a writ petition filed in this regard.
In February 2004, a case was lodged over torching 18 houses in Natore. In 2007, another case was filed in connection with the same incident, where Dulu was made accused.
Subsequently, a special judge court in Natore sentenced Dulu to 12 years’ imprisonment and 83 other accused to 10 years’ imprisonment.
