Unhealthy air quality in Dhaka: People advised to be careful
News Desk || risingbd.com
The air quality in Dhaka and its surrounding areas has worsened to unhealthy and sometimes to hazardous level (AQI > 250).
As a result, the government has urged people to wear masks when outdoors and requested individuals with health issues to avoid going outside unless ‘absolutely necessary’.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change issued a press release in this regard on Tuesday (December 10).
According to the release, air quality data is regularly updated on the Department of Environment's website for public information.
It has also requested all to contribute to air pollution control from their respective positions.
Brick kiln and factory owners and general people have been advised to refrain from some activities including burning solid waste, installment of proper enclosures, keeping construction materials covered, etc.
