Illegal wealth: 6 cases against 6 including 3 ex-ministers 

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved 6 separate cases against former Health Minister Zahid Maleque and his son, former State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak and his wife, and former State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam and his wife on charges of acquiring illegal wealth.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the ACC headquarters on Thursday (December 12), said Public Relations Officer Akhtarul Islam.

Their allegations include irregularities, corruption, embezzlement and money laundering.

In one case, former Health Minister Zahid Maleque has been accused of amassing illegal assets worth Tk 61.56 crore and his son Rahat Maleque of acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 11.84 crore.

Former State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak and his wife Arifa Jasmin have been charged of amassing illegal wealth worth around Tk 19 crore.

In two cases, Former State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam and his wife have been charged of acquiring illegal wealth Tk 72.
