Ballot papers will be used in national election, not EVMs: CEC 

Ballot papers will be used in the next national election, EVMs will not be used.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin said this while briefing newsmen at Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday (December 17) afternoon.

The Chief Election Commissioner said, “We have started taking preparations for the national election from the first day. We want to hold the election according to the timeframe indicated by the Chief Adviser.”

The commission is prioritizing the national election. No instruction has been received from the chief adviser regarding the local government elections yet. he added.

The CEC further said, "We are starting with the voter list preparations. Having an accurate voter list is crucial for the election, and the chief adviser has also emphasised this."
